RESOURCE CENTER ASSISTANT

Share your relationship building and organizational skills to assist the resource center’s daily operations.

ONE-ON-ONE COMPANIONSHIP

Encourage, listen, and build friendships with guests.

SPIRITUAL SUPPORT

Provide group studies, one-on-one visits for prayer and encouragement in a multifaith setting.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT MENTOR

Offer job seeking support and share your professional expertise in professional development.

PET THERAPY

Visit with your pet which can make a difference in the lives of guest.

WELLNESS COACH

Inspire guests with your passion for physical fitness, nutrition, or overall wellness.

CLOTHING CLOSET ASSISTANT

Sort clothes and assist guests find what they need.

ADOPT-A-MEAL

Bring a team to our Mid Placer Emergency Shelter and use our mobile kitchen to prepare a meal and serve our guests.

INSTRUCTORS – ARTIST, TEACHERS, AND GROUP FACILITATORS

Bring a skill or area of expertise to share with our guests.

OFFICE SUPPORT

Help with general office duties: sorting, filing, and preparing bulk mailers

SPECIAL EVENTS

Join the team to prepare, set-up, host, and clean-up.

MUSICAL ENTERTAINMENT

Individuals and groups are welcomed to share their musical talent including voice and instruments.

Once the interest form is received, a volunteer application will be provided to complete.

Attend a TGI Volunteer Orientation before volunteer service begins.

Applicants will be invited to attend a virtual or onsite orientation once volunteer application is received.

Use your skills, enlist your passions, and make a difference in the lives of our guests. Join Team TGI to make your educational experience come alive.

Students pursuing a Master’s degree or Doctoral degree have the opportunity to gain clinical experience within our mental health program. Program elements include clinical therapy, life skills classes and support groups. Interns make a difference at The Gathering Inn as they apply their knowledge in practical settings with our guests.

Adopt-a-meal

MID PLACER EMERGENCY SHELTER - AUBURN

Volunteers cooking for homeless guests of The Gathering Inn their 53 foot professional mobile kitchen

Let your culinary skills and flare for hospitality shine as a Serve Partner. Provide and cook dinner for 160 guests in our 53-foot professional, mobile kitchen. We will supply the pantry staples, kitchen, and even the recipes. You bring creativity and love along with the main ingredients and fellow volunteer chefs. Volunteer as many times as you would like – once a year, once a quarter, or even monthly. It’s up to you!

This shelter is located at 11442 E Avenue in Auburn.
